Hello friends,
Well, we have just about 3 weeks until our annual photo/video contest – the first IN-PERSON contest since 2019. It is scheduled for Thursday, October 27, 6 p.m for dinner and 7PM for the contest. the event is at Billy McHales in Federal Way.
There is still time to get your photographs ready to enter. The categories are as follows:
1) Above water dive related – Pictures taken above water that relate to diving.
3) Cold Water Macro – Pictures taken underwater in below 65 degree water at greater than 1 to 1 scale
4) Cold Water Wide Angle – Pictures taken underwater in below 65-degree water at less than 1 to 1 scale
5) Warm Water Macro – Pictures taken underwater in above 65-degree water at greater than 1 to 1 scale
6) Warm Water Wide Angle – Pictures taken underwater in above 65-degree water at less than 1 to 1 scale
7) Novice – Pictures taken by someone who has been doing underwater photography less than 1 year.
8) Special Category: Penpoint Gunnel – One or more P.G.’s from anywhere.
9) Video – Make sure it is dive related and try to keep it under 5 minutes.
So what are the rules? They are:
- You must be a Sea Horse Dive Club member to enter but anyone in attendance can vote.
- All entries must be in print form (no slides or digital photographs).
- The entering member must have taken the photo.
- Slight photo retouching is allowed (color temp, contrast, exposure, crop). Do not add anything or remove anything from the photograph. No composite entries allowed.
- Matting and/or framing is encouraged (max overall size including matte/frame 16×20).
- Entries must be marked on the back with the photographer’s name.
- Previous SeaHorse Dive Club winning or placing entries cannot be entered.
- Video must be submitted to chairman in advance (a dropbox folder will be provided) or submitted on a USB drive (let me know if you want to submit via dropbox).
- Video entries must have been shot, edited, and produced the entry (please try to keep it under 5 minutes).
- Previous SeaHorse winning or placing video entries cannot be entered.
