COTM for February

COTM for February

Sorry, the COTM (Critter of the Month) for February is a bit late. Ed posted it on our Facebook group on time, but putting it hear got past the goalie (i.e., your humble admin). Sorry about that.

The Critter of the Month for January was any poacher – and no-one saw one. So the COTM for February is the leather sea star. This species of sea star was not impacted as much as some of the other stars, so today they are relatively common. I’ve seen them from Tacoma to the San Juan Islands. When you see one, just comment to this post with date, dive site and approximate depth. A photo is not required. Here’s a photo to help you identify one.
