Hi friends, Jake Jurmain here with a written version of the presentation I gave at the February meeting. It’s huge so I’m chunking it.
My great passion is terraforming – meaning making a place more Earthlike by increasing the amount of life it can support. I enjoy sharing how I see the future of humanity and this world with that perspective. In this series of posts, I’ll talk about…
- Great Restorations: large-scale, ambitious projects ongoing to improve and restore the world’s ecosystems.
- Inventing Eco-compatibility: the strategy of making our civilization integrate with nature, so we won’t have to choose between our quality of life and our biosphere.
- New Nature: humanity’s historical role as a keystone species, and our emerging role as ecology architects.
I think humanity is just waking up to the potential of our civilization to do good. Stay tuned for why.
